NEATitems.com, LLC was formed by Steve & Ana Hall. We started
our business in 1981 (then known as Hall Way Enterprises in Boise, Idaho) demonstrating
and selling neat items at Home Shows, RV Shows, Boat Shows, etc. directly to the public.
Our website was first posted on the Internet in 1997. In 2003 Ana & Steve
retired and we moved our shipping operations to Sedona, AZ (photos below taken from
our warehouse deck) where everything is now
managed by our niece, Christina, pictured above with her family.
Over the years we have always been on the lookout for
NEAT items that offer our customers
something unique, something that is not available just down the road at your local
Wal-Mart or Home Depot. With the advent of the Internet, we changed our company name and
our marketing to keep up with the times. We no longer sell at shows, only
through our web site. We don't have a retail store, showroom or expensive
catalogs so we keep our operating costs low. This allows us to offer our NEAT
items at competitive prices. Most of our items are shipped
directly from us and are stocked by us. We strive to offer you great products and customer
service and we hope you'll enjoy using the items you purchase from us.
Now for some more personal info. We are a middle aged+
couple who have been married for 34 years. While Boise is still our home, we
now spend much our time at our home in La Paz, our beach
house in Bahia Asunciόn and aboard our sailboat
currently in San Francisco Bay. Ana founded her own successful computer
business in 1978, Memory Banks Business Services, when personal computers were just
beginning. (Our first one was a Radio Shack TRS80 Model 1 with 48k of memory and 4 disk
drives!) When Steve retired from Cycles Peugeot, USA in 1981, the family moved to Boise and
started the company. Except for a 2 year period in 1988 - 1990
when we sailed down to Mexico, over to Tahiti, back up to Hawaii, and then to San
Francisco, we could be found selling at many consumer shows in CA, ID, HI, AK, AZ, NV, WA, OR, MT
and other states.

This is one of my Dad's 'cruising' boats, the USS Searaven, a
WWII fleet sub. My father, Harold T Hall, served on subs during the war
beginning with USS S39, one of the WWI era subs that were still being used when
the war began (the S39 was later lost in action.) Overall he did numerous war
patrols on 6 different subs. Not my idea of a fun time cruising the South
Pacific.
