- Remember, brass is a soft metal and very easily scarred by wrenches.
Damaged or scarred shower heads & fittings are not returnable for
exchange or refund. Most shower heads can be easily installed without
using a wrench.
- Remove old shower head and clean shower pipe threads.
- Wrap Teflon tape in a clockwise direction several (5 or more turns) times
around shower pipe.
- Hand tighten new shower head onto shower pipe as tight as possible (a
wrench is seldom necessary.)
- Turn water on and check for leaks. If there is a leak, try hand tightening
again. You may want to use something (i.e. a rubberized jar lid opener) to
get a better grip on the shower head.
- If the shower head is leaking where it is attached to the shower pipe and
hand tightening does not stop the leak, carefully use
a wrench to tighten slightly. Caution, be sure to use a heavy cloth or piece
of leather between your wrench and your shower head and do not overtighten.

- Check again for leaks and repeat step 6 until shower head is tight enough
on shower pipe.
Shower Heads with washer
- Do not use tools to install. Remember, brass is a soft metal and very
easily scarred by wrenches. Damaged or scarred shower heads & fittings
are not returnable for exchange or refund.
- Remove old shower head and clean shower pipe threads.
- Wrap Teflon tape in a clockwise direction several (5 or more turns) times
around shower pipe.
- Insert washer into shower head and hand tighten new shower head onto
shower pipe.
- Turn water on and check for leaks.
- If the shower head is leaking where it is attached to the shower pipe,
hand tighten a little more. Caution, over tightening will force the washer
up inside shower pipe. Do not over tighten. Do not use a wrench or pliers.
- Check again for leaks and repeat step 6 until shower head is tight enough
on shower pipe.
Shower Heads with Extension Arms
- Follow instructions above.
- Never use the extension arm as a wrench or lever. You will bend it and
bent arms are not returnable for exchange or refund.
- Tighten joints only enough to prevent arm from sagging. Do not use any
tools to tighten extension arm joints.
- If necessary, you can lubricate the black rubber washers or o-rings
periodically with silicone plumbing grease.
- Special note on Paddle RainShowers - the first joint on the Paddle
showers is spline locked together. You must loosen the tri-star nut enough
to pull the joint apart to disengage the splines in order for it to move.
Extension shower arms are made out of brass. Brass is not a
hard metal like steel. If you try to tighten an extension arm using the arm as
a wrench or lever, it will bend. We hand inspect every extension arm we
send out and package them carefully to prevent shipping damage. Bent arms are
not returnable for refund or exchange.
Dual Shower Head Extension Arms
Installation Instructions—Please read carefully—Extension
arms and/or shower heads damaged by improper installation can not be returned or
exchanged for any reason.

Remove existing shower head from shower pipe (gooseneck)
by unscrewing the shower head counter-clockwise.

Apply 5 or more wraps of Teflon tape clockwise to the
clean shower pipe threads.

With the extension arms folded, screw them onto the
shower pipe clockwise until tight. Do not use a wrench. Do
not use extension arm as a lever. (Please note: the joint between the first
extension arm and the fitting that attaches to your water pipe has a spline
lock. Never try to adjust the angle of the first extension arm without first
loosening the tri-star nut and moving the joint off the spline lock.)

Extend arms and tighten the tri-star nuts so the first
arm is at the desired angle.

Tighten tri-star nut on second arm so that it moves
freely but supports its self.

Install the shower heads and flow valves. (Note: Flow
control valves are required by code to not shut off the water flow
completely so they will trickle slightly in the 'off' position.)

Check for leaks and tighten as necessary. (Please note:
if you feel you must use a wrench, be sure to protect the brass. Scarred
arms and shower heads are not returnable.)

If the shower head at the first joint does not stay in
position, you will need to move the internal spindle slightly. Loosen the
tri-star nut, 1 full turn, on the same side as the shower head is on.
Tighten the opposite tri-star nut. Re-tighten the shower head side nut
again. Repeat if necessary until joint tightens properly.
Note: Flow control valves are required by code to not shut
off the water flow completely so they will trickle slightly in the 'off'
position.

Triple Shower Heads

(Optional) - Install new Shower Arm Pipe or 'S' Riser
Pipe.

Clean shower arm pipe threads if using old pipe.

Wrap 5 or more turns of Teflon plumbers tape around all
male threads.

Wrenches are not usually required to install any shower
head.

Damaged or scarred shower heads are not returnable for
exchange or refund.

Install Flow Valves hand tight. Be sure to use rubber
washer supplied with each valve.

If triple is ordered with handheld shower in the center,
hand tighten bracket onto center outlet. Do not overtighten.

Hand tighten shower heads onto flow valves.
-
Hand tighten handheld handle onto flow valve at end of
hose.
-
Check for leaks and hand tighten fittings as needed.

Plumber's putty is recommended to seal around holes where
pipes are coming though a shower wall and to keep your escutcheon in place.
Silicone sealant can also be used but is harder to clean off later.
